Before this year I’d never heard of recovery points as a thing you bolt on yourself. A run through YouTube and a few 4X4 channels made it pretty clear: if a tow truck shows up and the only option is hooking onto the bumper, you’re either staying stuck or losing the front of your car. Neither sounded appealing.
Kaon came up in the search for rated points that suit a Prado without needing a bull bar. The how-to-fit video was the decider. The parts turned up through the post in proper WA time (Wait Awhile), all accounted for, with instructions and a clever little tool for reaching the bolts in the awkward corners. Torque settings supplied — torque wrench out, job done.
I haven’t actually used them yet. But at least if a tow truck does roll up, I can point at them and pretend I know what I’m doing.
